Il diaper change it is one of the most feared moments by new parents: it requires dexterity, dexterity of execution and decision, even if delicacy must never be lacking, an indispensable factor when dealing with such a small child.

In short, changing the diaper is one of the evidence of the pudding to grow up as parents and although the idea of "handling" a kicking baby may worry, life will be a lot easier once you get some experience.

So here are some tips for a quick and stress-free "pit stop"!

1 - KEEP EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO HAND

Diapers (better to have a spare, especially in the "first changes"), oils, towels and creams: make sure you always have them close to the surface where the change takes place. One hand will always be busy holding the baby, so you won't have much freedom of movement!

2 - SET OUT

The child must not turn around or roll over. Hold the baby's legs with one hand and unfasten the old diaper with the other.

To prevent the baby from moving too much, you can give him a rattle or some toy to distract him.

3 - CLEANING

Remember to always wipe from the front to the back to avoid urinary tract infections.

Please note: at each diaper change, the bottom should be washed under reasonably hot running water (in the first months of life this can be done in the sink) with a soft sponge to remove residues. The skin should be gently dried by dabbing.
