Fight the signs of pregnancy
  • Belly without stretch marks During pregnancy, the skin of the belly is stressed by the enormous dilation. If the skin on your stomach is tight and itchy, brush massages are good. In fact, they stimulate blood circulation and strengthen the connective tissue.

When your belly grows fast or when you have weak connective tissue, stretch marks can form. These are violet-colored, row-shaped streaks in the collagen and elastin tissues of the skin, which will then shrink but will not disappear.

To prevent (at least partially) stretch marks, massage your belly with a glove and in circular motions. In addition, spread an ad hoc cream or body oil on your stomach twice a day. Combine the cream with a pinching massage, perfect for stimulating blood flow: gently grab the skin between your thumb and forefinger, lift it slightly, roll back and forth and then release.

  • Stop itching due to dry skin With an area of 1,5 - 2 square meters, the skin of an adult is the largest organ in the human body. Which can find itself upside down during pregnancy. Due to hormonal changes, the skin becomes drier and itchy especially on the stomach. Shower oils containing fatty oils or shea butter have a healing effect on the skin even when washing.

Those who prefer to take a bath should forgo mountains of foam, because they take away hydration from the skin. Better to use bath oils and then a cream or body oil on still wet skin. Many midwives recommend aloe gel (purchased at the pharmacy) to be applied to the stomach several times a day. The gel that is produced by this desert plant relieves itching and cools.

  • Breathtaking breasts Pregnant women usually get breathtaking cleavage. The breasts begin to visibly swell in the first few weeks. At the end of pregnancy, each breast can weigh up to 400 grams more than normal.

It's great, sure, but it also means an extra load on the skin. Some women experience a feeling of tightness in the breasts during this period. Gentle massages with lavender oil and jojoba oil are ideal.

Important: Do not rub the oil on the nipples because the body already has its own protection program for pregnancy: on the nipple the Montgomery tubercles swell and secrete healing oil.

Alternating hot-cold showers, daily rubs with a damp terry towel or a massage with a soft toothbrush help keep breasts firm. After a water treatment or massage, apply a firming cream or calendula oil to your breasts. To help the connective tissue always wear a comfortable bra!

  • Remove the pimples from the décolleté The delicate skin of the décolleté needs special treatment, especially if pimples and blackheads appear. The ideal is a mud pack (you can buy it at a herbalist's shop or pharmacy). The quartz microcrystals absorb and eliminate bacteria, dirt and sweat.

Mix three tablespoons of mud with warm chamomile to form a pulp, then distribute it on the décolleté and once dry, rinse with warm water. Then gently apply a cream with a firming effect.

  • Varicose veins, just not During pregnancy, the veins in the legs have to carry about 1,5 liters more blood in the opposite direction to the force of gravity. At the same time, the growing belly and its weight can put pressure on the vessels and impair the blood flow from the legs to the heart.

In addition, progesterone makes the vein walls weaker, which stretches. The consequence for many pregnant women is the appearance of enlarged veins (called varices) which are visible on the legs as a red-blue line. Most of the time these varices are harmless, easily sclerotic or eliminated after delivery with the laser.

The best prevention? Alternating hot-cold showers, to train the vessels to tighten and widen. Important: always ends with a cold shower. Also try to do as many things as possible while sitting, without crossing your legs. It also helps to wear support socks.
